Product information "Astronomik L-RGB filter set type 2c"
A filter set especially for astrophotography with CCD cameras. These filters allow a true-to-color reproduction of planets, stars and emission and reflection nebulae.
The transmission properties of the L-RGB TYPE 2c filters are optimized for CCD astrophotography: With this filter set, there are finally filters with which, unlike other providers, a color-fast recording of all objects is possible. Both continuum radiators and objects that radiate only in individual lines are reproduced in their true colors. You will obtain CCD images that show the object in the best color, just as you would see it with the naked eye if your eye were sensitive enough. This makes this filter series the only one in the world from all other manufacturers.
The following aspects were at the forefront of the development of the color filter set:
- easy processing of the color extracts
- highest transmission (almost 100%) for shortest exposure times
- high transmissions in H-beta, OIII and H-alpha
- Adapted transmissions of the individual filters for optimal color reproduction
- Use of industry standards
Astronomy does not stop thinking at the acquisition of images, but rather the astrophotographer is to be given a tool that offers him a simple and elegant editing process. To maintain color fastness, we used the sRGB color space for the calculations, which is used as standard by almost all manufacturers of monitors, printers and image processing software. It is not for nothing that the topic of color reproduction fills entire volumes. As a user, you do not have to worry about color spaces and color metrics, we have already solved the special problems in astrophotography for you.
Due to the high-precision processing of the carrier substrate, which is processed individually for each filter and not as a plate, not only is the homofocality self-evident, the wedge error also falls far below all common tolerances. In order not to be the qualitative needle eye in a high-quality optical system, the astronomical filters naturally work with limited diflection. Problems regarding focus position as well as the exact position of the images of the individual color extracts are therefore not present!
Mode of action
The L-RGB filter set divides the spectrum into its components red, green, blue and luminance. As a result, color extracts can be obtained with pure b/w sensors that correspond to the color vision of the human eye according to DIN 5032. The sRGB color space defined in 1996 makes it possible to preserve the true colors throughout the entire production process, from image acquisition to image processing and printing. Manufacturers of monitors, image editing software and image output use this standard. With an Astronomik L-RGB filter set, you can use your camera to generate optimal source material for the creation of images in the sRGB color space.
Tips and other instructions for use
- In combination with the Astronomical line filters, interesting details can be worked out from astronomical objects, for example if the red filter is replaced or supplemented by H-alpha or green by OIII.
- Also ideal for planetary photography and observation.

- 10 years warranty. The warranty covers the unchanged physical and physical properties of the filter in the intended use. The original invoice must be available. The warranty does not apply to problems that arise from use with devices (e.g. cameras, eyepieces, focal length changing intermediate optics or image field levelers) that were not yet on the market at the time of the filter acquisition. This warranty does not limit your other consumer rights. In case of warranty please contact us by email or phone. Send the filter(s) in sufficiently stamped to us.
